The Write Research Group and its public sector head-hunting business Smart Public strengthens its executive board in line with its future growth plans by promoting its top performers. The group comes to the end of year 5 and has maintained its track record as a high growth business. The group continuous its impressive growth plans by consolidating both its Group Sales and Marketing and Group Client Delivery functions at board level.

Group Sales and Marketing

Tim Gleave – Group Director of New Business Development

Group Sales and Marketing is now led by Tim Gleave who is promoted to Group Director of New Business Development and becomes an equity shareholder: this gives him overall responsibility for business development for both the Write Research Company and its recently acquired public sector recruitment business Smart Public. He will be head of an experienced Group Sales and Marketing team based in offices both in Leeds and Newcastle Upon Tyne. He is a graduate in History from Newcastle University and has completed a Masters in Anglo Saxon history.

Paul Ryder – Head of Business Development

Paul Ryder is promoted to Head of Business Development and becomes an equity shareholder. Paul will have overall responsibility for strategic marketing communications. Paul has held senior management positions within Executive Research and Communications. More recently he was Marketing Director at New College Durham (a Higher Education College) situated in the city of Durham. Paul graduated in Business Studies from the University of Northumbria finishing with an MBA from the University of Durham.

Group Client Delivery

David Murphy - Managing Director (Client Delivery)

David has spent the last 10 years in executive research and business intelligence. He joined Write Research as Account Director in July 2002 before becoming Group Director of Client Delivery and then Managing Director in August 2005. David epitomizes the opportunities and reward that have been created in Write Research’s client delivery team.

In less than three years he is now part of the group board. Commenting on his new appointment David is ‘delighted about leading a business that continues the quest to uncover the ‘myth of head-hunting’. I believe strongly that our people, our partners, our suppliers and clients are committed to helping us shape our future and in the process help the much needed re-evaluation of the recruitment industry. I am deeply committed to this passion’… David is a graduate in French and German from the University of Hull.

Sarah Spencer – Group Director of Client Delivery

Sarah brings over 10 years experience in executive research and consultancy. She previously worked as Head of Research for an internationally renowned Healthcare and Intellectual Property search and selection business. Prior to Write Research she set-up and subsequently developed a research team based geographically in London and Leeds.

The delivery of client assignments on time within budget and with true excellence in account management throughout the assignment’s life cycle, the refinement of the company’s continuous improvement strategy is key to Sarah’s remit.
Sarah is graduate in French and Spanish from the University of Leeds.
