WRC foundation
Smart Public’s Foundation was conceived and created in 2002 with the hope of raising money for a number of UK based charities whilst choosing an overseas charity dedicated to the welfare of children. This has now been achieved and our UK based charity work follows the example set by David Jones and the charity committee of Next Plc. Our overseas charity came from the fine work of Chris and Denise Southern who help deprived and sometimes desolate children in India and in particular Goa. Their work deserves a mention- please read on…

SWING LOW SWEET CHARITY BALL
We were very proud to be able to support Next’s ‘Swing Low Sweet Charity Ball’ in aid of Parkinson’s research, NSPCC, Macmillan Cancer relief and Sparks at the Battersea Park Marquee on the 20th November 2004.
The ‘Swing Low Sweet Charity’ ball combined Martin Johnson’s (the world cup rugby hero) chosen charities: NSPCC, Sparks and MacMillan Cancer Relief combined with Next’s The ‘Cure Parkinson’s Trust’- a charity who aims to find a cure for Parkinson’s Disease.
The Write Research team would like to thank David Jones (Chairman Next Plc) and the Charity Committee: Sue Myatt, Karen Bird, Stephanie Pemberton and Denise Olive for their efforts in raising £500,000+ on the night. We are already looking forward to next year…

The NSPCC is the UK's leading charity specialising in child protection and the prevention of cruelty to children. Founded in 1884 as the London SPCC by the Reverend Benjamin Waugh, the NSPCC is the only UK children's charity with statutory powers that enable it to take action to safeguard children at risk of abuse.
The NSPCC's mission is to end cruelty to children. Their vision is a society in which all children are loved, valued and able to fulfill their potential. In other words, a society that will not tolerate child abuse - whether sexual, physical, emotional, or neglect.

El Shadia
The words of El Shadia’s founders Matthew Kurian and Anita Edgar are probably the place to begin. ‘Martin Luther King talking about servant hood said: ‘Everybody can be great because everybody can serve. You don’t have to have a college degree. You don’t have to make your subjects and your verbs agree. You don’t have to know about Plato and Aristotle. You only need a heart full of grace and a soul generated by love’.
Beginning with just 18 children in 1997, the charity now runs 4 residential care programmes for nearly 400 children. The Non Formal School educates the children who had never had a chance of receiving any form of education before.
We work in association with Southern and Partners to provide educational material to help provide hope to those children who would have faced a desolate future.

Write Research has been nominated for an award in the prestigious North East Business Awards for 2007.
